Dutch Language Lessions
DUTCH LANGUAGE PROGRAM FOR BEGINNERS, FALL 2008
The Dutch Canadian Club (Edmonton) will be offering a “Basic”
Dutch language course again in the fall of 2008. The course will start on
Thursday, October 9 and will end on Thursday,
November 27, from 6:30 till 9:30pm
for a total of 8 fun filled evenings with innovating teaching materials
and methods.
The course will be held in the Dutch Canadian Center, 13312-142 Street.
Course instructors will be Dr.Theo Gerding and Harold Bens. Pre-registration will be required by phone or email. A minimum of 10 students will be required for the course to proceed. Also, there will be a limit of 12 students in order to manage the instruction capability and room size. Registration is first come first served. Age levels will be from 12 years and up. You will also be required to bring a dictionary Dutch/English and English/Dutch.
This course is particularly of interest for those who wish to learn more about the language of their parents or grand parents, learn about the Dutch culture or who are planning to visit the Netherlands for pleasure or business.
Registration fees are as follows:
Dutch Canadian adult members - $65.00
Dutch Canadian student members - $55.00
Adult non-members - $75.00
Student non-members - $60.00
Registration fees will include admission in the Dutch Canadian Center during the period of the course. This will allow visits to the social evenings every Friday evening to practice the Dutch language in conversation, play cards, billiards or shuffle board or just enjoy the company of others.
In order to assist the students, text, work books and CD can be signed
out at the first lesson for a book and CD deposit of $85.00, which will
be refunded if the books and CD are returned in good condition and not written
into the books. All writing must be done on separate binders if you are
intending to return the books.
Final registration will be at the first lesson.
